Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Oropos, of which it is a municipal unit.[2] The municipal unit has an area of 34.638 km2.[3] It is situated in the eastern foothills of the Parnitha mountains, 3 km southwest of Polydendri, 5 km southeast of Malakasa and 27 km north of Athens city centre.
