روبرت گيتس (و. 25 سبتمبر 1943) هو وزير دفاع الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية رقم 22 والحالي. وقد تولى منصبه في 18 ديسمبر 2006.^[2] وقبل ذلك كان گيتس قد خدم لمدة 26 عاما في وكالة الإستخبارات الأمريكية و مجلس الأمن القومي تحت رئاسة الرئيس جورج ه. بوش في منصب مدير المخابرات المركزية. وقبل أن ينضم للسي آي أيه كان قد خدم في القوات الجوية الأمريكية.^[3]
