كامل عبد الرحيم

محمد كامل عبد الرحيم بك (Kamil Abdul Rahim ؛ 20 أكتوبر 1897 – 3 فبراير 1966) دبلوماسي مصري.[1][2][3][4] ورجل أعمال. أول سفير مصري لدى الاتحاد السوڤيتي (1943)، ثم سفير لدى الولايات المتحدة في (1949 - 1953).
تولى إدارة مشروع المركز الإسلامي في واشنطن وجمع التبرعات السفير المصري محمود حسن باشا الذي خلفه في إدارة المشروع والتبرعات حتى وضع حجر الأساس في أول يناير عام 1949 السفير المصري محمد كامل عبد الرحيم.
في 25 اكتوبر 1951 قال سفير مصر لدي واشنطن، كامل عبد الرحيم، إن مصر لم تستشر قبل تقديم الاقتراحات إليها حول مشروع ميكوم، وأنها لم تدع لأي محادثات تمت خلالها الخطط المقترحة.
تزوج من "آمنة محمد محمود"، وأنجبا حسين كامل عبد الرحيم، المستشار بهيئة الأمم المتحدة (توفي في 28 يناير 2015).
النشأة
حصل كامل عبد الرحيم على البكالوريوس والماجستير في الاقتصاد والعلوم السياسية من جامعة كمبردج، بإنجلترة، وكذلك ليسانس حقوق من جامعة القاهرة.

1952: Doctor of Law, Rollins College, Florida.
1951: Appointed by the Egyptian government to sign the Peace Treaty with Japan at the War Memorial in San Francisco on September 8, 1951.[5]
1950: Chief Delegate of Egypt and President to the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal, Canada.
1953: Members of the U.S. Congress mentioned Rahim as a possible candidate for the U.N. Secretary General.[6]
1954–1948: Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary to the United States. Chief Delegate and Permanent Representative of Egypt for the 5th session of the United Nations Assembly.
1948–1946: Ambassador Plenipotentiary Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
1944–1946: Minister Plenipotentiary to the Soviet Union. First diplomat to establish diplomatic relations between Egypt and the Soviet Union.
1942–1944: Minister Plenipotentiary to Turkey.
1939–1942: Various assignments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
1936–1938: Chargé d'Affaires in Poland.
1934–1936: Director of Budgets, Ministry of Finance.
1932–1934: Engaged in private business, founded the Egyptian Petroleum Co-Operative.
1930–1931: Director, Bureau of Commercial Relations, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
1929–1931: Various government assignments, participated in the Henderson-Mahmoud Pasha Negotiations of the Anglo-Egyptian Treaty.
إنجازات
نشر عبد الرحيم The Hearts Cure: Selected verses from the Holy Kuran Traditions of the Prophet Muhammed. Established two social welfare programs for the underprivileged and orphans. وقد كان مؤثراً في تأسيس وبناء المسجد والمركز الإسلامي بواشنطن.
الحياة الشخصية
تزوج السفير كامل عبد الرحيم من آمنة، ابنة محمد محمود باشا، رئيس وزراء مصر الأسبق. وهو والد حسين رحيم Hussein Rahim، الذي تزوج Eugenie Sigourney Thayer، ابنة Sigourney Thayer (1896–1944) و Mary "Molly" Van Rensselaer Cogswell (1902–1983).[7] التحق حسين بـ Sidwell Friends School في واشنطن العاصمة، وتخرج من جامعة هارڤرد في 1955، وعمل في أمانة الأمم المتحدة في مدينة نيويورك.[7][8]
