مقاطعة لوخا هي واحدة من 24 مقاطعة في الإكوادور وتشاطر حدودها الجنوبية من الغرب مع مقاطعة إل أورو، ومن الشمال مع إل أزواي ومن الشرق مع زامورا-چينچپى. أسسها في موقعها الحالي في 1548 الكاپتن ألونسو دى مركاديو (الإسباني) the site had been previously moved and rebuilt from La Toma بسبب الزلازل. كما تسمى وادي كوخيبامبا الذي يعني في لغة كيچوا "الوادي المبتسم".
