يوسف قافيه (عبرية: יוסף קאפח تـُنطق [josef qafiħ] ؛ 27 نوفمبر 1917 - 21 يوليو 2000) هو حاخام مزراحي إسرائيلي من أصول يمنية ولد في صنعاء 27 نوفمبر 1917 توفي والده وهو صغير وتكفل به جده الحاخام يحيى قافيه في عام 1932 توفي جده وعمره 14 عاما تزوج فيما بعد من ابنة عمه وهاجر إلى إسرائيل عام 1943 وعاش فيها حتى توفي في إسرائيل في 21 يوليو 2000

Awards and recognition

  • In both 1962 and 1973, Qafiḥ was awarded the Bialik Prize for Jewish thought.[1]
  • In 1969, he was awarded the Israel Prize for Jewish studies.[2] His wife, Rabbanit Bracha Qafih, was also awarded the Israel Prize for her special contributions to society and the State in 1999,[3][4] in recognition of her extensive charitable work (this was the only occasion on which a married couple have both been awarded the Israel Prize).[5]
  • Qafiḥ has also won the Rabbi Kook Prize, and was awarded an honorary doctorate by Bar Ilan University.
