شارنت ( Charente ؛ بالفرنسية: [ʃaʁɑ̃t]  ( استمع)؛ Saintongese: Chérente; أوكسيتان: Charanta [tʃaˈɾantɔ]) هو إقليم فرنسي في منطقة أكيتان الجديدة . أخذ اسمه من نهر شارنت، أطول أنهار الإقليم والذي تطل عليه أكبر مدينتين فيه: أنگولم وكونياك. وفي 2019، بلغ عدد سكانه 352,015 نسمة.

 التاريخ

Charente is one of the original 83 departments created during the French Revolution on 4 March 1790. It was created from the former province of Angoumois, and western and southern portions of Saintonge.
