جامعة گوتنگن، وتعرف رسمياً باسم جامعة گيورگ أوگوست في گوتنگن (بالألمانية: Georg-August-Universität Göttingen)، كما تعرف بشكل غير رسمي باسم گيورگيا أوگوستا، هي جامعة ألمانية مقرها مدينة گوتنگن.

أنشأها سنة 1734 جورج الثاني ملك بريطانيا العظمى والأمير الناخب لهانوفر آنذاك، وبدأت الدراسة بها سنة 1737، وسرعان ما نمت الجامعة في الحجم والشهرة، حتى أصبحت گوتنگن من بين المدن التي تلقب بمدن الجامعات، إذ يشكل طلبة الجامعة نسبة كبيرة من عدد سكان المدينة.

The university is organizationally and personally interlinked with the following independent and semi-independent institutions. There are four Max Planck Society for the Promotion of Science Institutes situated in Göttingen:

• Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry (Karl Friedrich Bonhoeffer Institute)
• Max Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine
• Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization, formerly Max Planck Institute for Flow Research
• Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, formerly Max Planck Institute for History
• German Primate Center – Leibniz Institute for Primate Research

Besides, the *Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, formerly Max Planck Institute for Aeronomy is closely linked and has cooperation with the university.

تعد جامعة گوتنگن واحدة من الجامعات المرموقة في ألمانيا والعالم، إذ عمل ودرس بها 45 من الفائزين بجائزة نوبل في ختلف فروعها. والجامعة تحتل المرتبة الأولى في ألمانيا والتاسعة أوروبياً والرتبة الثالثة والأربعين على مستوى العالم وفقاً لتصنيف التايمز لجامعات العالم سنة 2010، كما احتلت الرتبة الرابعة في ألمانيا والثلاثين أوروبياً والثالثة والتسعين عالمياً في التصنيف الأكاديمي لجامعات العالم في نفس العام.
